All appliances that are included in the sale should be tested. With a G Warren Home Inspection, when possible, all the appliances will be tested. Appliances such as, washer and dryer, dishwasher, micro wave oven, stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal. A large majority of home inspection companies only test the dishwasher which we feel is a mistake. Some old appliances that are not really functional should be removed and discarded, which can be quite costly. When a non functional appliance is discovered before the purchase, the buyer has the ability to negotiate the cost of repair or removal with the seller. A sound practice is to test every appliance before the purchase of the property to be sure all appliances are functional.
