The main thing about the walk through inspection is to look for any damage by the movers. Sometimes when people move themselves without professional movers they damage walls, doorway trim, hand rails, and scratch hardwood floors. In the kitchen if they are moving a refrigerator check the floor for cracked tiles or damage to whatever type of floor covering there is in the kitchen. Other area that should be inspected for mover damage is the front of the house. Check to see if a large heavy truck was pulled up to the front of the house for easy loading, Inspect the sidewalks for cracks, the driveway for damage, bushes, and the front of the house for any damage that may have occurred from the truck backing into the house. Another area of concern at the walk through is debris left on the property, if you see any take a photo and report it to your closing attorney so the matter can be addressed before closing. To remove debris can be expensive and when debris is removed, one never knows what is underneath or behind it.
