Many times the garage, basement and attic can't be properly inspected because of stored furniture, equipment and boxed items. As a buyer you should never dismiss the inspection of these areas after the storage is removed a complete inspection should be conducted. I am not saying serious repairs are purposely hidden behind the stored areas but all to often this is exactly where hidden repairs are found. One other note, the storage in these areas should be cleaned out and inspected days before the final closing. To wait till the day of closing could be costly if repair are missed or not reported. Mainly because the inspection was conducted at the last day with little or no time left for negotiations and the buyer is under pressure to close. In other words protect yourself, don't wait till the day of closing to conduct the final inspection.
